Biography
Jeremy Royce is an award-winning cinematographer and director whose career, spanning more than 20 years, has encompassed a breadth of formats and genres including music videos, commercials, documentaries and fiction. He was the co-cinematographer of the documentary He Dreams of Giants (2019), featuring Adam Driver, Jonathan Pryce and Terry Gilliam, and his commercial work includes national campaigns for brands such as Fireball Whiskey, Simon & Schuster and Head & Shoulders.
He made his directorial debut with the feature documentary 20 Years of Madness, which premiered at the 2015 Slamdance Film Festival and won the festival’s Honorable Mention prize. The film went on to claim best documentary honors at six more festivals and received television and streaming distribution.
Royce has been teaching cinematography, documentary production, commercial and music video production for more than a decade. Under his mentorship, former students have received the ASC Heritage Award and the Student Academy Award. His story-driven approach to cinematography remains his guiding principle in both his teaching and his work as a filmmaker.
He received his MFA from the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
