
Jeffrey Goldberg
Biography
With a voice praised as “rousing, full-throated,” and “ringing,” (San Diego Story),
Southern California baritone Jeffrey Goldberg was most recently seen as a resident
artist with Cedar Rapids Opera. Before that, he was a resident artist with Opera Naples
for their 2022-2023 season, performing in Roméo et Juliette, HMS Pinafore, Carmen,
and Frida; and as a hired artist for their 2025 season, he was in their productions
of La Bohème and The Mikado. He has also performed such roles as Gugliemo from Mozart’s Così fan tutte, Dr. Falke and Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, by Johann Strauss, Claudio in Berlioz’s Beatrice et Benedict, Bartolo and Antonio from Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Peter in Humperdink’s Hansel and Gretel, Simone in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, and Howard in the Chicago premiere of Dog Days, by David T. Little, as well as several partial roles. He has also performed with
Pacific Symphony in their Opera for Kids! productions of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance, and Humperdink’s Hansel and Gretel. On the concert stage he has performed the solo in several beloved masterworks, including
Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.
As a teacher, Mr. Goldberg has a wide variety of experience teaching students of varying
skill levels, from amateurs all the way up to the collegiate level. Most recently,
he was the primary voice teacher at both Southwest Florida Music Education Center
and the Inclusive Conservatory of Naples, where he received training from the Berklee
College of Music to teach voice lessons to neurodivergent students and students with
disabilities. He also taught lessons to non-major students at Northwestern University,
as well as many private students over the last several years. He is a graduate of
Northwestern University, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Voice and Opera, and
before that, Chapman University where he obtained a Bachelor’s in Vocal Performance.
