After completing his dissertation on the topic of "Democratic Leadership Development in City Government," he retired from his nearly three-decade career in municipal government and renewed his commitment to teach leadership studies at Chapman. As a Freirean scholar with Chapman's Paulo Freire Democratic Project, Warren is involved with research and writing to serve others so they may become acquainted with the legacy and philosophical contributions of Paulo Freire.
