Biography
David Singh is a veteran entertainment-marketing executive with more than 30 years’
experience crafting 360º motion-picture advertising campaigns for Walt Disney Studios,
Sony Pictures, 20th Century Studios, MGM and dozens of tech-driven brands. His work
has driven more than 40 No. 1 opening films and more than $10 billion in global box-office
revenue.
Beginning as an editor, copywriter, and producer at Mocean, Singh rose to head creative advertising, content, and digital marketing at Walt Disney Studios, overseeing campaigns for franchises such as Pirates of the Caribbean, X-Men, High School Musical, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Amazing Spider-Man, Alice in Wonderland, Kingsman and Pixar. As creative director and later EVP of creative advertising at Sony Pictures and 20th Century Studios, he has worked with filmmakers including Ridley Scott, M. Night Shyamalan, Jon Chu, Paul Greengrass and Wes Anderson.
Beyond film, Singh served as managing director of San Francisco agency Goldfront, shaping brand stories for technology startups and innovators such as Google and Uber. His campaigns have earned multiple Clio Entertainment and Golden Trailer awards, and he is a voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Singh studied at Michigan State University and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. He is a founding member of the Portland based Underground Workshop writers’ collective, appears in Tron: Legacy for 1.2 seconds, has a 28-day Duolingo streak, and lives in Santa Monica.
