
Daniel Funk
Biography
Dan Funk recently concluded his tenure as executive vice president of unscripted production for FremantleNorth America, where he oversaw some of television's most successful franchises, including America's Got Talent, American Idol, Family Feud and The Price Is Right, among many others. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he successfully kept all 15 Fremantle productions on the air while managing production budgets totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. He also played a key leadership role in the design and construction of Fremantle's first dedicated television studio, HAVEN, which is now home to The Price Is Right and the Daytime Emmy Award-winning Let’s Make a Deal.
Funk spent more than 15 years with Fremantle, including a decade as executive producer of Let's Make a Deal. Over a career spanning more than 40 years in television production — including more than 30 years as an executive producer and director — he has created hundreds of hours of programming across a wide range of genres, including game shows, competition series, live specials, and major pageants such as Miss USA and Miss Universe. His work has earned multiple Emmy Award nominations.
Prior to joining Fremantle, Funk was CEO and owner of Blanki & Bodi Productions, where he produced more than 500 hours of network, syndicated and cable television. His career has taken him to more than 20 countries and nearly every U.S. state, producing projects ranging from adventurous location shoots in the Amazon rainforest and the Miss Universe pageant in Cyprus to a major New York City concert for Amazon featuring Taylor Swift. His ability to solve complex production challenges has become one of the hallmarks of his career.
Funk is a member of the Directors Guild of America and the Writers Guild of America. He has also shared his industry experience as a guest lecturer at UCLA and at the University of Redlands.
A graduate in Theatre Arts with honors from the University of Redlands, Funk resides in Los Angeles and continues to bring decades of leadership, creativity, and production expertise to the entertainment industry.
