Biography

Chris Tornow has served as an adjunct professor in Dodge College's Production Design program since 2007. A production designer for nearly 30 years, he specializes in digital design while bringing broad experience across every facet of production design, including photography, cinematography, broadcast engineering and editing.

He is the owner of PFINIX Creative Group, a broadcast design and systems integration company that also operates Orange County’s largest private soundstage. His professional work spans commercial production with clients such as Disney, Wolfgang Puck, SharkNinja, Boost Mobile and Ninja Coffee. More recently, he has worked on several government projects. 

Tornow was mentored by the acclaimed production designer Laurence Paull, an influence that continues to inform his interdisciplinary and practical approach to design education. He is a graduate of Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, where he received his MFA in directing.
