Dr. Carlos Henderson

Carlos has over a decade of experience in higher education, with a deep specialization in institutional research. Since joining Chapman in 2014 as a senior research analyst for the Institutional Research and Decision Support Office. His work focuses on analyzing and reporting data from various significant surveys, including the Alumni Survey, the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), the Ruffalo Noel Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI), the CIRP Freshman Survey, and the College Senior Survey (CSS). In addition to managing these external surveys, Carlos also leads the planning, logistics, and deployment of most in-house surveys developed by the Office, ensuring accurate and actionable insights are provided to campus stakeholders.

Beyond his research responsibilities, Carlos has made significant contributions to the academic community at Chapman by teaching courses in mathematics, statistics, and advanced research methodology. His dedication to education is matched by a strong commitment to diversity—he actively seeks to help others recognize both the unique needs and valuable contributions of individuals from diverse backgrounds within the collegiate community.

One of Carlos’s greatest passions is studying student academic success, with a particular focus on the social and academic factors that influence student outcomes. He is also deeply interested in the academic preparation and career exploration of students pursuing fields in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
