Candace Goodman

Candace Goodman is a Spanish Instructor at Chapman University with more than 20 years of experience teaching Spanish at the university level. She first joined Chapman in 1998, teaching full time and later serving as Spanish Program Coordinator from 2000 to 2005. After taking a few years away to raise her family, she returned to Chapman as a full-time Spanish instructor in 2011, where she continues to teach today.

At Chapman, Goodman has taught courses ranging from elementary and intermediate Spanish to advanced conversation and methods for teaching Spanish. She earned her M.A. in Spanish from New York University in Madrid, Spain, and her B.A. in Spanish from the University of San Diego.

Throughout her career at Chapman, Goodman has been recognized for her commitment to teaching and student success, including receiving the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2005, along with numerous additional faculty recognitions and teaching award nominations. She has also contributed to the university through student mentoring and service on various faculty committees.
