Bob Yong

Bob Yong’s teaching is informed by years of industry experience spanning animation, previsualization, visual effects, and interactive media. With a holistic approach to education, he is passionate about helping aspiring artists discover and develop their individual strengths while preparing them for the creative, technical, and collaborative demands of the entertainment industry.

Trained as a 3D generalist, Yong has worked across every stage of the animation and visual effects pipeline, developing expertise in previsualization, cinematic storytelling, animation, and real-time production workflows.

He currently serves as lead 3D visual designer at Misapplied Sciences, where he helms a multidisciplinary team in creating concept designs, motion graphics, animation, visual effects, and other creative assets for immersive and interactive experiences. His work bridges cinematic storytelling with emerging display technologies, combining artistic vision with technical innovation.

Prior to his current role, Yong was a previsualization artist and learning and development trainer at The Third Floor, where he contributed to the development of feature films and episodic productions, including Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018), Loki Season 1 (2021), Ms. Marvel (2022), Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023), The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025) and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 (2025). As a learning and development trainer, he designed and delivered training for new hires and trainee artists, equipping them with the previsualization techniques, production workflows, and pipeline tools used throughout the studio.

Yong earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in computer animation from Ringling College of Art and Design (2016) and a Master of Fine Arts in animation and digital arts at the University of Southern California (2020).
