Angelo Dagonel

Angelo Dagonel is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Chapman University specializing in the intersection between American political institutions and race and ethnicity politics. His research primarily focuses on how American immigration policy is developed, resourced, and implemented by legislative and bureaucratic institutions. His other research interests include election law, specifically the preferences, voting behavior, and redistricting efforts surrounding minority voters. During 2023, he was a pre-doctoral fellow at the Election Law Clinic at Harvard University, where he used quantitative analysis to assist various court cases under the Voting Rights Act. He earned his PhD from Harvard University in 2026, and his Bachelor of Arts from University of California, Berkeley in 2018, after transferring from Pasadena City College.
