Biography
Dr. Amy Kang is an Associate Professor and Board-Certified Infectious Diseases Pharmacist at Chapman University School of Pharmacy. She serves as an Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacist at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where she co-chairs the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program Committee.
Dr. Kang earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Loma Linda University, where she received the APhA Foundation Robert D. Gibson Award and the President’s Award. She completed her PGY-1 residency at UCSF Medical Center, followed by a PGY-2 residency in Infectious Diseases Pharmacy at USC/LA General Medical Center.
She has led high-impact research studies focused on optimizing antimicrobial use, improving patient outcomes, and advancing stewardship practices, which has earned competitive funding for investigating innovative approaches to managing difficult-to-treat infections.
Dr. Kang oversees stewardship strategies across several hospitals and more than 20 outpatient clinics, and lends her expertise for the Los Angeles County Public Health Antimicrobial Stewardship Program.
Dr. Kang has received prestigious awards, including the ACCP Infectious Diseases Practice and Research Network New Practitioner Award, the ACCP Junior Investigator Research Award, and the CSHP New Practitioner Achievement Award.
