» Minor in Psychology

The Minor in Psychology is designed to enhance knowledge of psychological concepts and processes as they apply to a wide range of scientific disciplines and fields of practice.  Students build upon an introduction to the field and research methods and statistics through completion of four additional upper division courses selected from our psychological processes and applied psychology course offerings.

Note:  The Psychology Minor is accepting a limited number of new students during the 2024-2025 academic year.  Please indicate your interest in becoming a Psychology Minor in our brief online application form.  The fall application period will close on September 30th and students will be notified of their acceptance into the Psychology Minor during the first week of October.

Psychology Minor Requirements

General Requirements

  • Earn an overall GPA of 2.000 for all required minor courses.
  • Complete all courses in the minor for a letter grade.
  • Complete a minimum of 12 credits from upper-division courses in the minor.

Core Foundation Courses (10 credits)

  • PSY 101 – Introduction to Psychology (3 credits)
  • PSY 203 – Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences (3 credits)*
  • PSY 204 – Research Methods in the Behavioral Sciences, Lecture and Laboratory (4 credits)

Upper Division Courses (12 credits)

Choose four of the following upper division courses from our psychological processes or applied psychology course offerings:
