» BS Health Science to MS Physician Assistant Studies

This program guarantees an interview and preferential consideration for admission for excellent undergraduate Health Science students from Chapman University in the Master of Medical Science Physician Assistant Studies Program contingent upon completion of the following:

  • B.S. in Health Sciences with completion of all PA program prerequisite courses
  • Prerequisite courses must be:
    • Taken at Chapman University or at a science transfer agreement program*
    • Only taken once
    • Taken for a letter grade, earning a "C" or better
    • Completed with the grade reflected on your official transcript prior to application submission
  • Science GPA > 3.6 and a cumulative GPA > 3.4
  • GRE minimum scores: Verbal 150, Quantitative 150, Writing 4
  • Meeting with PA Admissions Coordinator prior to application to verify completion of Bridge program requirements. (Email paadmit@chapman.edu to schedule your meeting.)
  • Three letters of recommendation, one of which is from a PA, MD, or DO
  • At least 1,000 hours of patient contact experience. Experiences to be arranged by the student. Program will not arrange or recommend sites.
  • Personal statement: 350-500 words, 12 Font, Times New Roman describing how your personal goals are in line with the mission of the program and how those goals will contribute to the community and to the profession. (This personal statement is separate from the one required for the CASPA application.)
  • U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)

*A science transfer agreement program is a formal agreement between Chapman University and a partner community college.

Once you have me the above criteria and are ready to apply to the Physician Assistant Studies Program, please complete the following steps:

  1. Contact the PA Admissions Coordinator for a meeting to review your application plans: paadmit@chapman.edu.
  2. Submit your CASPA application.
  3. Email PA Admissions with your personal statement and CASPA ID number to indicate that you are a Bridge applicant and that you have submitted your application.
  4. Once we review your CASPA application and verify that you have met all criteria, you will be contacted for an interview.
