Biography

With over 35 years of marketing and production experience in the entertainment industry, Larry brings a wealth of knowledge to his Entertainment Communication course in the School of Communication. He is also a television and event writer/producer and is Owner of Great Escape Entertainment LLC.

Previously, Larry served as Executive Vice President of Marketing and Industry Relations for the entertainment industry organization of the Entertainment Industries Council (EIC). At EIC, he oversaw West Coast operations, as well as heading up creative and product development, production, branding and marketing. He also was primary liaison to the entertainment industry, spearheading the organization's efforts to impact on the depiction of various health and social issues in entertainment.

Larry created “The Incredible Crash Dummies,” a licensed product property designed to promote safety belt use to children in an entertainment-based fashion and produced a national media event at which the famous Hollywood sign was buckled up with the world’s largest safety belt. He also led efforts to address the depiction of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs, seat belt use, AIDS, organ donation and transplantation, mental health, gun violence, human trafficking, veterans issues, science, engineering and technology, and diabetes, in TV and movies.

Larry is a member of the Television Academy (Executives Peer Group), the Hollywood Radio & Television Society, and the National Association of Television Program Executives.
