The SURFEES program objectives are to:

  • Increase student awareness of the earth and environmental issues and career opportunities in the environmental area

Features of the SURFEES program include:

  • Faculty-mentored intensive research in a range of earth and environmental disciplines including biology, chemistry, food science, and geoscience
  • On-campus student apartment housing for full eight weeks of the program
  • Professional development workshops
  • Seminars with faculty speakers and environmental professionals
  • Cohort-building activities and social events
  • Concluding research poster presentation showcase and ceremony
  • $5600 fellowship award
