Information Systems and Technology's Project Management Office offers a range of IT training to meet the needs of student, staff, and faculty.

Note: If you do not have Chapman-owned laptop or personal laptop, one will be provided for you during the training session. Workshops are limited to 15 attendees per session. Multiple workshops are available throughout the semester.

Webinar via Zoom: Learn Adobe Photoshop

NOTE: This event will have a maximum capacity of 12 participants.

This beginner-intermediate class is designed to get you up and running in Adobe CC Photoshop. You will learn basic photo retouching, changing image size, working with layers, adjusting image quality, making selections, using color, adding text and shapes, combining images, and applying filters. For your convenience, this workshop is held online via Zoom for PC and MAC users.

This workshop builds foundational knowledge and will help start down the road of creating advanced workbooks and worksheets that can help deepen your understanding of Excel. Additionally, you will gain the skills to efficiently navigate and manipulate spreadsheets in a workbook, optimize your worksheets using simple-to-complex formulas by nesting: Add, Fill, Split, Transpose, Sorting and Filtering, Tables, Drop-downs, Analyzing, Charting, and PivotTables in Excel.

+ - Office 365 - One Drive

Today's workshop will teach you about Microsoft's OneDrive and how to get the most out of using OneDrive. Microsoft OneDrive is a cloud-based storage service that allows a user to access files from any device with an Internet connection. Users can share and collaborate with files within Chapman and external users. Files stored on OneDrive can be edited via Office Online (portal.office.com) and can also be co-authored by multiple users at once. You will learn to access files, change the sorting options, open files, organizing your files, and view file details. We will lastly be looking at document Version History, deleted files, sync files. This workshop is designed for MAC and PC users.

+ - Basic Accessibility Training (Word)

Learn what ‘accessibility’ means in this hour long class and how it impacts the documents you create every day. We will use Word to learn best digital accessibility practices including the use of Headers, Lists, Alternative Text, proper formatting of Tables, how to make good hyperlinks, and how to use the Accessibility Checker. We will also briefly discuss Acrobat and how to create an accessible PDF from your document.

+ - Advanced Accessibility Training (PDF)

After you have attended the Basic Accessibility Training (Word) workshop, come and learn how to make most PDF files accessible in this one hour class. We will discuss how prevalent the PDF format is and why, how to best create a PDF from your source document, how to use the Acrobat Accessibility Checker, how to OCR scanned files, add alternative text to images, editing the tags in a file, and then properly markup tables and lists.
