About this Film

Director's Bio
David Jibladze was born in the country of Georgia in the outskirts of Eastern Europe.
Fleeing persecution during the country's civil war following the breakdown of the
Soviet Union, David and his family were granted political asylum by the United States
where he became a citizen in 2006. He received a B.A. in Film Studies and Economics
from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and received an M.F.A. in Film Production
from Chapman University's Dodge College of Film & Media Arts in Orange, California,
last year. His thesis film, Beholden, recently won Best Student Film at the Holly Shorts Festival in Hollywood. David
is currently directing a documentary on the crisis taking place in his home country
of Georgia as well as working on a character-driven feature revolving around Georgia's
civil war.
