2027 benefits guide

  • Open Enrollment starts on Monday, November 2, and will close on Wednesday, November 18 at 11:59 p.m.
  • Visit inside.chapman.edu and use the Employee Self Service option to make any necessary changes. You can also review your current selections and beneficiary information through Employee Self Service.
  • If you are not making any changes, you do not need to take any action, with the exception of participation in the Flex Spending Account, which requires reenrollment each year.

2027 Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Benefits

Life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance provide cash benefits in the unfortunate event that you or a covered family member passes away or suffers a traumatic injury. This basic coverage is provided at no cost to Chapman University employees. Additional coverage can be purchased; see the "2027 Voluntary Benefits" dropdown below. 

  • Class 1 Benefit Summary: Applies to all memebers, other than Tenured Faculty with 10 or more years of service, age 60+ and participating in the ER phased retirement plan
  • Class 2 Benefit Summary: Applies to tenured Faculty with 10 or more years of service, age 60+ and participating in the ER phased retirement plan

Voluntary Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment
  • Voluntary Life: Allows employees to purchse additional life insurance coverage beyond the Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment benefits.
  • Voluntary Accidental Dealth & Dismemberment: Allows employees to purchse additional accidental death & dismemberment coverrage beyondy the Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment benefits.
