Panther Alert

In the event of a campus emergency, the Panther Alert system will notify the community using each individual's preferred contact methods. All community members are automatically enrolled to receive alerts via their Chapman email. To add or update additional contact options, please visit the Chapman University Emergency Contact Information Form.

P.A.W.S.

P.A.W.S. (Prevention, Awareness, and Working Together for Safety) is a proactive crime prevention initiative focused on community education and partnership. The program emphasizes strategies to reduce victimization, increase situational awareness, promote a community watch mindset, and encourage responsible community behavior. To schedule a crime prevention seminar or security survey, or for general inquiries, please contact Lieutenant Mike Kelley at mkelley@chapman.edu or call the Public Safety Office at (714) 997-6763.

Campus Emergency Phones

blue phone

At Public Safety, your well-being is our top priority. To ensure you always have immediate access to help when you need it, we’ve expanded the number of blue light emergency phones across campus.

These highly visible phones are strategically located in parking lots, near residence halls, along walkways, and in other key areas. If you ever feel unsafe, witness suspicious activity, or need urgent assistance:

  • Simply press the button — You’ll be instantly connected to a Public Safety dispatcher, 24/7.
  • We’ll know your exact location — Each phone is GPS- or location-enabled, allowing us to respond quickly and accurately.
  • No dialing, no delay — Just push the button. Help is on the way.

Whether you're walking back from class late at night or just want peace of mind, the blue light phones are here for you.
