Funding Undergraduate Research

and Creative Activities

CUE can also help provide funds to enable undergraduates working with you!

  • Undergraduate scholarly/creative grants: Undergraduates can apply and receive up to $1,000 of funding for research or creative activities that are done with a faculty mentor; this funding can be used for reagents and supplies, travel costs, and more. Grants are disbursed in both fall and spring semesters. More info and applications here.
  • Undergraduate travel grants: Undergraduates can apply to receive funding to present their work at a conference, academic meeting/event, or public cultural event/festival. Funding can be used to cover registration and travel costs. Read more here.

Summer research fellowships: CUE runs an 8-week summer research program, the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF).  Students in this program receive $4,200 stipends to support their scholarship over the summer.
