Liberal Studies is a major for aspiring elementary school and special education teachers. It prepares you to teach a range of subjects in a range of subjects and different grade levels in schools.

Your Path to Becoming an Effective Educator
- Build the skills and knowledge you need to teach a range of subjects in elementary or special education classrooms.
- Put your coursework into practice and get real experience in the classroom at the TK–8 level.
- Learn how to be the best educator you can be and make an impact on student success.
Your Career Path After Graduation
- Teach at the elementary level or special education settings, after obtaining a teaching credential, with no need to take the CBEST or CSET.
- Find employment as an educator in California and in other states.
- Have a clear pathway to a master’s in teaching through our integrated master’s programs.

Chapman University's Integrated Teacher Education programs provide a streamlined route to becoming a credentialed K-12 educator.
Chapman undergraduate students begin master's-level coursework during their junior or senior year and apply up to 15 credits toward both degrees - cutting the time and cost of graduate school by as much as 50%.
