Beyond the Studio

Summer Courses or Full Semesters Abroad
You can study abroad in several ways—by taking a single course during interterm or
summer, spending a full semester in another country, or even studying at sea. Recently,
students have studied in the Czech Republic, Italy, Costa Rica, Japan, Australia,
England, France, Argentina, Germany, and Spain.
Faculty-led Studio Courses Abroad
The Studio Art program also offers faculty-led studio courses as part of our personalized
education. Recent courses included The Origins of Artand Science: The Rise andInfluence of Alchemy; Anatomy, Machines, and Astronomical Discoveries in the Art ofthe Italian Renaissance; and Contemporary Art in Berlin and Venice. These are three-week summer courses in which you can visit galleries, artist studios,
underground spaces in Berlin, Germany, or experience the Venice Biennale in Italy!
