Volunteering at our Stroke Bootcamp and Parkinson's Disease Bootcamp has been one of my favorite experiences of graduate school! Chapman hosts this 2-week program to provide interdisciplinary services to people in the community. I have learned so much from our faculty about safety for our participants, hands-on experiences co-treating with physical therapy students and insight into the communication breakdowns that can occur when completing physical therapy exercises. This provided me with a deeper understanding of how communication varies outside the therapy room. Chapman’s CSD program has offered me a wide variety of opportunities with many different client populations!
