»Dance Scholarships and Financial Aid
In addition to the need- and merit-based aid available to all Chapman students, Dance BA and Dance Performance BFA students have access to a specialized scholarship: the Department of Dance Talent Scholarship.
The Department of Dance Talent Scholarship is awarded to students who show high commitment and talent in dance and academics.

Eligibility
The Department of Dance Talent Scholarship is open to all students pursuing a BA in Dance or a BFA in Dance Performance.
Length of scholarship
The scholarship is available for up to eight semesters for first-year students. For transfers, it is available for up to eight semesters minus the number of full-time equivalent semesters completed prior to enrollment. Students' levels of commitment and performance are reviewed each year for renewal of the scholarship.
How to apply
There is no additional application for the Department of Dance Talent Scholarship. When you apply to Chapman as a BA in Dance student, you automatically apply for the scholarship.
If you have been awarded the Department of Dance Talent Scholarship, it will be available in your Application Status Page.
Scholarship renewal eligibility
To be eligible for scholarship renewal each semester, recipients must:
- Pursue the BFA in Dance Performance or BA in Dance in a timely manner.
- Audition and be available for casting for all department concerts.
- Perform in at least two dance concerts per year.
- Enroll in a minimum of two dance technique classes per semester.
- Participate in all dance activities such as master classes, residencies, and other events.
- Maintain full-time enrollment (12 units or more per semester).
- Maintain a Chapman University cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0.
- Volunteer for activities each semester (auditions, Preview Days, etc.).
- Interview, if requested, with the Dance Chair during the spring semester of each year to review these terms.
If you have any questions about this scholarship, reach out to the Department of Dance at dance@chapman.edu.
