Your Classroom Is the World
Expand your perspective by studying art and culture around the world. Whether you spend an Interterm, summer, or an entire semester abroad, you'll experience art, history, and daily life in ways that simply cannot be replicated in the classroom. Studying overseas helps you develop a broader understanding of global cultures while shaping your academic interests, personal growth, and future career. 

You'll have opportunities to study in a variety of locations and formats, from intensive short-term programs to semester-long experiences—and even study at sea. Recent Art History students have traveled to the Czech Republic, Italy, Costa Rica, England, France, Argentina, Germany, Peru, and Spain, gaining firsthand experience with the people, places, and works of art they study.

Pursue Research in the U.S. and Around the World
You will be encouraged to conduct primary research for your senior thesis project. As a senior, you can apply for research travel funds through the Center for Undergraduate Excellence (CUE) or Art Department funds, such as the Maureen Bellettini Scholarship. Our students have traveled to visit archives at Yale, museums and galleries in New York City, and archaeological sites in Peru.
