Joining a dance club gives you the chance to hone your artistry, connect with the dance community and perform with fellow students at exclusive Chapman events.
These clubs offer classes, bring guest artists to campus, and create opportunities to perform and choreograph in specific styles. As these are student run and organized, clubs also create leadership opportunities for students. With groups for every style - contemporary, hip-hop, ballet and beyond - there’s something for everyone. Explore this page to learn more and find a dance club that fits your interests!
The student clubs listed below are open to undergraduate students of all majors.
Chapman Dance Alliance
A student-run organization at Chapman dedicated to bringing together dancers on campus. With year-round activities and a concert in the fall semester, Chapman Dance Alliance welcomes all dance majors and minors, and provides opportunities for other majors on campus to participate in open classes and also audition to perform in the annual fall concert. The annual CDA show, which sells out every year, includes space for campus clubs to take the stage and perform original choreography.
Chapman Ballet Folklórico Club
A student-run Ballet Folklórico club focused on engaging students through dance and culture. Open to students of all majors, the club offers a welcoming space to learn and perform folklórico, showcasing colorful costumes, rhythmic music, and storytelling movements.
Chapman Dance Film Club
A space for dancers and filmmakers to collaborate and experiment together with the resources from the College of Performing Arts and Dodge College of Film & Media Arts. CDFC also hosts Chapman Video Music Awards (CVMA's) every fall semester, where students showcase their projects that follow the theme of that year's awards. Open to all BA and BFA Dance Majors, Dance Minors, and other students on campus interested in dance opportunities.
Chapman Dance Team
Chapman University’s Official Dance Team and 16-time champions at the USA Collegiate Championship Nationals. The Dance Team performs at the CDA Show and other on-campus events. Membership is audition-based, open to all BA and BFA Dance majors, dance minors, and any students on campus.
Chapman on Broadway
Provides opportunities for students to perform, direct, and design in a musical theater/play setting, including but not limited to fully staged musicals, plays, revue shows, and cabaret nights.

Chapman University Tap Ensemble (C.U.T.E.)
C.U.T.E creates opportunities for Chapman students to educate and immerse themselves in the culturally diverse art form of tap dance. Each year since 2009, C.U.T.E. has showcased campus tap dancers and special guest performers, which led to Musco Center establishing Chapman’s first tap festival, Tap Fest Cali. C.U.T.E. performs in the CDA Show in the fall and hosts the Happy Tappy Chappy Show in the spring.
Chapman Twilight
Chapman's K-Pop dance club is dedicated to creating a welcoming community for K-Pop fans who love to dance with fellow students. Membership is audition-based.
Co. Lab
Chapman’s student-run contemporary dance club offers open classes and choreographic and performance opportunities. They perform in the CDA Show in the fall and host an informal showcase in the spring. Membership is audition-based, open to all BA and BFA Dance majors, dance minors, and any students on campus.
Floor 13
Inspiring authenticity through dance and creativity, Floor 13 began as a competitor in the annual philanthropy event known as Airbands and has since evolved in style and membership, reflecting a culture of openness and collaboration through workshops and innovative performances.
Stilettos
Chapman’s student-run heels dance club. This club offers additional training in heels through open classes, guest artists, and performances in the CDA Show and other on-campus events. Membership is audition-based, open to all BA and BFA Dance majors, dance minors, and any students on campus.
Team Shaka
A student-run dance team that focuses on the hip-hop genre, performing numbers that are completely choreographed by fellow team members to increase awareness and appreciation of hip-hop. Team Shaka performs in the CDA Show as well as multiple events throughout the year, on and off campus. Membership is audition-based, open to all BA and BFA Dance majors, dance minors, and any students on campus.
