»Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment

What is Sorority Recruitment?

Sorority recruitment is your opportunity to explore Chapman's Panhellenic community and find the chapter that feels like home. Throughout the process, you will learn about each sorority's values, philanthropic efforts, leadership opportunities, and sisterhood.

Recruitment is a four-round experience where you meet members from all nine National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities on campus. As you visit each chapter, you will gain insight into how each organization contributes to campus life and how you might grow as a member of their chapter. The process is based on mutual selection, helping you find the right chapter for you!

Am I eligible to participate in formal recruitment?

Our Panhellenic community holds formal recruitment once a year, before the start of the spring semester. To uphold their commitment to academic success, the Chapman Panhellenic community has implemented the following academic and enrollment criteria:

  • You must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at Chapman University.
  • Current Chapman students must have successfully completed at least 12 credits by the start of formal recruitment.
  • Transfer students entering Chapman in the spring must have earned 12 transferable college-level credits from another institution by the start of formal recruitment.

Grade Point Average (GPA) Zones

  • Green Zone (3.0 and above): Your options are unlikely to be limited based on GPA.
  • Yellow Zone (2.5 - 2.99): Some chapters may be restricted from extending you an invitation, depending on their national academic standards.
  • Red Zone (Below 2.5): You are not eligible to participate in Panhellenic recruitment.

More information can be found on the Panhellenic website. Please reach out to panhellenicrecruitment@chapman.edu with any additional questions.

Informal Recruitment

If you are a returning Chapman University student or a transfer student who has completed at least 12 college credits, you can participate in fall informal recruitment or continuous open bidding (COB). Not all of the sororities participate in these recruitment events. If you want to learn more about this process and which sororities will be eligible in the Fall, please contact panhellenicrecruitment@chapman.edu
