Which advisor should I schedule my appointment with?
While all our School of Comm advisors are here to support you, some advisors are better able to assist you with certain questions and concerns.
Depending on what you need help with, you’ll want to schedule your appointment with either a faculty advisor or a staff advisor.
Faculty advisors can help you:
- Review your program evaluation.
- Plan out your schedule (both short- and long-term) and the classes you will take.
- Get approval to study abroad.
- Learn about internship opportunities.
- Find minors or double majors that match your interests.
- Find out more about potential career paths.
- Learn more about our integrated graduate program.
Our faculty advisors are Arleen Bejerano and Andrea Weber.
Staff advisors can help you:
- Complete a graduation check.
- Add another major, a minor or a themed inquiry.
- With questions about General Education classes and transfer credit, or other general questions.
Our staff advisor is Ezequiel Jimenez.
Interested in our integrated graduate program?
Our integrated MS in Health and Strategic Communication program allows you to earn a master’s degree with just one additional year of coursework on top of your bachelor’s.
If you are interested in this program, make an appointment with a faculty advisor as early in your undergraduate career as possible. We will discuss your options and help you get on track to earn your integrated master’s degree.
Things to know before your advising appointment:
- All appointments are listed in Pacific Time. If you are in another time zone, you can use this time zone converter to convert Pacific Time to your local time.
- Teams is available for free using your Chapman credentials.
- If you need help with Teams, you can learn more about using it on our Microsoft Teams Resources page.
- At your scheduled appointment time, an advisor will contact you via Teams video chat. Please be sure that you are logged in to Teams and ready at your appointment time.
Walk-in hours
In addition to scheduled appointments, we also offer walk-in hours. Walk-in hours are in person and do not require you to schedule an appointment in advance. During walk-in hours, students are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
Walk-in locations: each advisor has a different location for their walk-in hours. The locations are included in the table below.
