As you move into your new place, keep in mind that you’re now part of the Orange community.
The neighbors next door, the people down the block, the people behind you, along with
you and your roommates, together make up this community.
Here are tips for living in Orange and being a good neighbor during your stay.
Take the time to get to know your neighbors. After moving in, take a stroll up and
down the street and introduce yourself and your roommates.
Give your neighbors a heads up. Make sure they have your contact information in case
any issues arise and share your plan to manage noise and traffic to minimize any disruptions.
As a resident of the City of Orange, you are subject to the City's disturbance ordinance,
which prohibits loud and unruly parties as well as underage drinking. Violations can
result in fines and sanctions from both the City and Chapman University. For questions,

Be aware that late night activities and certain outdoor decor may not be embraced
by all who live in your area. Please be respectful of your neighbors’ right to a peaceful
living experience, especially when it comes to noise; loud noise after 10 p.m. can
be tough for neighbors with young children or early work schedules.

Citizens of Orange take great pride in their community and like to keep it looking
clean. Trash cans must be brought in within 24 hours of pick-up. Leaving them out
longer can result in a citation.
