»Phillip Lyle - Interim Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Phillip Lyle is the Interim Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Chapman University, where he is responsible for leading the university's information technology strategy.
Phillip has served Chapman for more than a decade in a variety of senior leadership roles, most recently as Deputy Chief Information Officer. His extensive portfolio includes infrastructure modernization, enterprise systems management, research computing, and technology strategy aligned with our academic mission and institutional priorities.
Among his many contributions, Phillip established the university's first centralized high-performance computing cluster to support faculty research; helped modernize classroom and remote learning technologies; and continues to show leadership in Chapman’s emerging AI efforts. He also played a critical role in leading enterprise cloud migration initiatives and strengthening cybersecurity through multifactor authentication and identity management systems.
Prior to joining Chapman, Phillip held senior IT leadership roles at Rancho Santiago Community College District and Resources Global Professionals, bringing more than 25 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure and client services. He holds an MBA from Concordia University Irvine and a bachelor’s degree in information technology from the University of Phoenix. He is also a graduate of the EDUCAUSE Leadership Institute and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
