RESEARCH/TEACHING INTERESTS

Dr. Stevens’ research sits at the intersection of machine learning and behavior analysis. In particular, she has explored unsupervised techniques for modeling subtypes of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and how they respond to treatment intensity and duration. Dr. Stevens serves as the primary instructor and course coordinator for CPSC230 (Computer Science I), but teaches a variety of other courses such as Introduction to Data Science and Object Oriented Programming. An overarching goal of her teaching is active and experiential learning in order to promote diversity and inclusion in the computer science and engineering curriculum.
