RESEARCH/TEACHING INTERESTS

Dr. Davison is a Senior Member of Technical Staff at The Aerospace Corporation and a Professor of Practice in the Fowler School of Engineering. Her research interests center around the application and development of mathematical methods from an engineering and physics perspective to examine complex dynamical systems.

Dr. Davison completed her Ph.D. as an NSF Graduate Research Fellow in the Dynamical Control Systems Lab in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at Princeton University. Her graduate research furthered understanding of how individual components in a network interact and influence oscillatory behavior in nonlinear systems. Her paper on associating brain dynamics and age was featured on Reddit Science’s PLoS Science Wednesday. Beyond her academic pursuits, she has engaged in work dedicated to broadening participation in STEM and encouraging diversity in future generations of scientists and engineers. Dr. Davison graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with dual Bachelors of Science in Physics and Mathematical Science.
