During or after Chapman Open House, there are additional on- or near-campus offerings you can enjoy while you are in the area.

Old Towne Orange
After Open House wraps up, take a short walk from campus to Old Towne Orange,
one of the best college towns in America.
Just head to the fountain and you'll find coffee shops, vintage and antique stores,
boutiques, and restaurants. Chapman students love it, and it’s a great way to see
what life just off campus feels like.

Rhinocerous
Waltmar Theatre (walking directions)
7:30–10 p.m.
Get a first-hand look at Chapman Theatre with a performance of the play Rhinocerous: Just another Sunday. Two friends enjoy a drink at a sidewalk cafe. Everything is like
it always is... until a rhinoceros comes charging across the square. Yes, an actual
rhinoceros! Cue the mass psychosis, gaslighting, metamorphosis, groupthink, and terror.
Now, one by one, friends and colleagues are transforming into rhinoceroses, leaving
Berenger to make a choice: take a stand against the rampaging herd or join them. As
resonant as when it premiered in the wake of the Second World War, playwright Eugene
Ionesco’s brilliantly absurd and comedic response to the rise of fascism and Nazism
in Europe last century is a cri de cœur here in this century imploring each of us
to resist the call to accept the chaos and fall in line.
