Dr. Jerry Price has served as Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at Chapman University in Orange, CA since 2008. His administrative responsibilities include residence life; first year programs; student health services; student counseling services; disability services; Greek life; student government; student activities and leadership; and student judicial services.
Dr. Price also is an adjunct professor in Chapman’s College of Educational Studies. Prior to his appointment at Chapman, Dr. Price served as Associate Vice President and Dean of Students at the University of Texas-Pan American and also as Dean of Students at Drake University. During his time at Drake, he also taught at Iowa State University as a visiting assistant professor of education.
Dr. Price has served as editor of two New Directions for Student Services sourcebooks — “Understanding and Supporting Undocumented Students” (2010) and “Planning and Achieving Successful Student Affairs Facilities Projects” (2003). Dr. Price also has published articles and presented at conferences on the topics of student retention; campus culture; academic and student affairs partnerships; and leadership.
Dr. Price has a bachelor’s degree in English from Carthage College, a master’s degree in English from Drake University and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Iowa State University.
