There are a number of scholarships that are established elsewhere and are open to Chapman undergraduates. Each has their own application and deadlines. In addition to these, a number of congregations offer scholarships to their college bound youth. Please explore this option with your home congregation. All of these scholarships are stackable with Chapman University scholarships.

DOC - HELM Scholarship
HELM supports Disciples undergraduate students through its Leadership Fellows Program.

If you answered "yes" to these questions, you may qualify as a candidate for the Leadership Fellows Program.
DOC & UCC - PULF Scholarship
Disciples and UCC undergraduate students attending a college or university as listed in the current Yearbook & Directory of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), may apply for a Phillips University Legacy Scholarship and Leadership Development Program. Annual awards are intended to support and enrich the educational experience and leadership capabilities of future Christian leaders. Scholarships may be applied to tuition, books, room and board, lab fees, and similar educational expenses incurred within the college/university.
PULF Scholarship is up to $8,000 annually. Application deadline is March 15 each year and is open to high school seniors, college first years, sophomores and juniors.
DOC - LETA PUCKETT Scholarship
Up to $20,000 awarded annually to one or more students who are majoring or minoring in religious studies at Chapman, first preference given students from Fresno County, second preference to students from the Northern California-Nevada Region, third preference to any student who is a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. Deadline for application is April 4 each year.
DOC - DYER EDUCATION FUND Scholarship (a legacy of the 1st Christian Church of San Lorenzo, CA)
In the neighborhood of $2,000 annually to a Chapman admitted or enrolled student who shows need according to the FAFSA. First preference is given to students from the Northern California-Nevada Region, second preference to any student who is a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. Deadline for application is March 20 each year.
UCC - Undergraduate Scholarship
The endowment provides scholarship assistance to members of UCC Congregations who are under 25 years old.
- Applicant must be a member of a United Church of Christ Congregation
- Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited 4-year university.
- Applicant entering their sophomore year may apply with a "C" average or equivalent; applicants entering junior or senior year must demonstrate at least a "B" (3.0) grade point average.
Awards range from $500 to $1,500
The Houston Memorial Scholarship of First Christian Church of Redding, CA
The Houston Memorial Scholarship honors a former Redding church member who particularly appreciated music.
- Applicants must be majoring one of the undergraduate degrees in the Music at Chapman University. They must have at least a 2.5 GPA and be active in Disciples on Campus at Chapman University (or its successor group).
