Housed in the 2nd Floor of Beckman Hall in the Argyros College of Business and Economics, the Janes Financial Center is equipped with 12 Bloomberg terminals to provide students up to the minute financial data. This state of the art facility was established in 2012 with major funding from Mr. David A. Janes and earnings of the Chapman University Student Managed Investment Fund.

The Mission of the Janes Financial Center (JFC) is to extend the goals of the Argyros College of Business and Economics through innovative classroom technologies, advanced financial analysis technology, and real-world applications. Learn more about the resources in the Janes Financial Center


Meet the Director

Fadel Lawandy, CAIA is a financial expert with 30 years of experience in Investment Banking, Portfolio Management, corporate finance, and real estate and holds a B.S./B.A. in Finance and International Business from Chapman University, and an MBA from Norwich University.

 He is currently a professor at Chapman University and the Director of two centers: the Janes Financial Center and the C. Larry Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance. Mr. Lawandy joined the George L. Argyros College of Business and Economics at Chapman University after retiring as an Executive Managing Director of HW Financial Group and Co-Founder/President of HW Capital Partners.

 Fadel is also a frequent contributor to various publications, including the OCBJ, OC Register, and LA Times and enjoys volunteering with nonprofit organizations to help his community to be a better place to live and work.

Janes Financial Center Residency Program

The Residency Program is a group of high-level finance students dedicated to developing their practical skill set to bridge the gap between the classroom and a career in the finance industry. 

Students in the program are challenged to apply their financial knowledge in innovative ways by participating in consulting projects for major investment firms in Orange County and by competing in regional and international investment competitions held through the CFA Society Orange County and the CFA Institute.
