The Janes Financial Center has the distinction of housing the most Bloomberg terminals of any university in Southern California.

Throughout every semester, The Janes Financial Center hosts Bloomberg Training Sessions designed to teach beginners on how to use the Bloomberg terminals to enhance their Argyros College education. In these hour sessions, students learn basic navigation skills and become familiar with some of the most useful functions on Bloomberg. Getting Bloomberg certified is easy and free for Chapman students, faculty and staff! Simply log on to the terminal, enter the command mnemonic at the top of the screen and begin. Why should I be Bloomberg certified? With a Bloomberg certification, you'll learn the language of finance, get Bloomberg on your resume, and discover the inner workings of the markets.

Bloomberg Market Concepts Certification

Bloomberg Market Concepts covers the basics of financial markets, helping students learn what moves markets and drives valuations. In addition, BMC helps students familiarize themselves with key benchmarks To obtain a Bloomberg Market Concepts Certification, enter BMC in the command line at the top of the screen and press <go>. BMC consists of four major sections: Economics, Currencies, Fixed Income, and Equities. Once each of the required videos have been viewed and their corresponding assessment tests have been completed with a passing score, Bloomberg will issue a certificate of completion.

Every semester, the Janes Financial Center, in conjunction with the Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance, hosts Wall Street Prep comprehensive training courses on financial and valuation modeling, REITs, and Visual Basics Excel (VBA) courses. The intensive seminars are led by former investment bankers and career professionals with applied expertise in financial and valuation modeling methodologies, and bridges the gap between academics and the real world to equip students with the hands-on practical financial skills that they will need to excel during the recruiting process and on the job. Topic areas include Financial Statement Modeling, Discounted Cash Flow Modeling, M&A Modeling, LBO Modeling, VBA financial coding, and REIT valuation. Students receive a certification upon successful completion of the online-based test at the end of the course.

In addition to the intensive trainings during both semesters, Wall Street Prep offers a wide variety of online self-study modules available to Chapman students at a 40% discount. The online modules range from beginner to advanced on topics including, but not limited to Accounting Crash Course, Excel Crash Course, Analyzing Financial Reports, Advanced LBO Modeling, Oil and Gas Modeling and Real Estate Modeling.
