Mr. Anderson has over 35 years of experience in accounting and corporate finance and has taught accounting at Chapman University, Pepperdine University, UCI, CSULB, and CSUF. As a former business owner, he is particularly attuned to the challenges faced by small businesses and their owners. He is a member of NAPFA, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Association of Enrolled Agents.

Dr. Yashar Heydari Barardehi is an Assistant Professor of Finance whose research explores U.S. equity market structure and its impact on market quality, investor behavior, and asset prices. His work has been published in The Journal of Finance, The Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, and The Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, among other leading outlets, and presented at major finance conferences worldwide. From 2021 to 2024, he served as a Financial Economist at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, contributing to key policy initiatives. He teaches Equity Investments and Corporate Finance at Chapman University.

Dr. Bowen has over 30 years of experience in accounting education and research. He founded the Argyros student management investment fund and has been a consultant to the CFA Institute since 2010. Prior to academia, he worked as an economist for the Institute for Water Resources, the Bureau of International Labor Affairs, and Bell Atlantic Corporation.

Lawandy is Director of the C. Larry Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance, and a Professor of Finance and Real Estate at Chapman University. His work spans banking, investment management, and private equity, and he helped establish Chapman’s CUCA100 and CUOC25 equity indices. He holds a B.S./B.A. from Chapman University and an MBA from Norwich University and serves on multiple boards.

Dr. Zhi Li is an Associate Professor of Finance at Chapman University. Her research lies at the intersection of corporate finance, behavioral finance, accounting, and industrial organization. She examines the design and implications of executive compensation, the efficient processing of public information in capital markets, and the influence of product market competition on investment decisions. Dr. Li earned her Ph.D. in Finance from Arizona State University and her Master of Finance from Boston College.

Carlos Nunez brings over nine years of experience with Colombia’s Ministry of Finance, including collaboration with the World Bank, complemented by private-sector roles in banking, securities brokerage, and financial asset valuation. He holds a Master of Mathematical Finance from the University of Toronto and a PhD in Risk Management and Insurance from Georgia State University. Dr. Nunez also holds the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certification and has a forthcoming article in Management Science.

Dr. Glenn Pfeiffer

Glenn M. Pfeiffer holds the Warren and Doris Uehlinger Endowed Professorship in Business. He earned his B.A. from Hope College and his M.S. in Finance and Ph.D. in Accounting from Cornell University. He joined the Argyros College in 1995 after faculty appointments at the University of Washington, the University of Chicago, and the University of Arizona, and is an affiliate of the Law and Economics Center at George Mason University. He has also served as Associate Dean, Provost (2014–2021), and Interim Provost (2025).

Dr. Pfeiffer’s research focuses on accounting disclosures and capital markets. He has published extensively in leading academic journals and authored textbooks and case studies. He teaches financial accounting and analysis across undergraduate, MBA, Executive MBA, and Law programs and is the recipient of multiple teaching awards, including the Valerie Scudder Award.

He has taught corporate finance, derivatives, and international finance in the U.S., China, and Singapore.

Professor Weidenmier has served on multiple Editorial Review Boards for leading economics journals and has served on the nominating committee for the Nobel Prize in Economics.

Previously served as Director of the Lowe Institute for Political Economy at Claremont College and is currently a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.  His work applies insights from events in financial history to current trends.  His work appears in leading economics and finance journals including Journal of Financial Economic, American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of Political Economy, and Journal of Economics History.
