James enjoys the process of working with students to help them navigate their higher education journey. Prior to coming to Chapman, James worked in various fields of higher education. This includes time as a Career Center Advisor at California State University, Fullerton and an Advisor for Outreach at California State University, Long Beach. In his leisure time, James enjoys basketball, camping, traveling, and spending time with family.
Advice from James
I am a strong believer of "Student Involvement Theory." Which basically theorizes the more involved students are on campus, the more likely they are going to succeed. I believe this to be the foundation of the true "college experience" that students sign up for here at Chapman!Favorite spot on campus
It would have to be Wilson Field. I love sports but more importantly, this is the place on campus where students often gather for their first and last formal event: Convocation during their first week and then Commencement four years later! It’s always a great experience to see students at these events.
