»Multiple Renaissance(s)

Multiple Renaissance(s)How many 'Renaissances' do we know? From whatever perspective it is observed, the Renaissance is a phenomenon that calls for multiplicity: multiplicity of disciplines, multiplicity of possible chronologies, multiplicity of places and centers, both inside and outside Italy.

Following a research direction already explored in his most recent volumes and expanding the intersections between painting, architecture, poetics, and theater on one side ("Queste spaziose loggie", Architettura e poetica nella tragedia italiana del Cinquecento, Naples, Loffredo, 2022), and literature and philosophy on the other (Torquato Tasso e il desiderio di unità. La "Gerusalemme liberata" e una nuova teoria dell'epica, Rome, Carocci, 2022), Dr. Confalonieri opens an interdisciplinary pathway dedicated to the multiperspective, multidisciplinary, and multilingual study of the Renaissance(s).

Dr. Confalonieri invites interested students and colleagues to reach out for possible collaborations that broaden the field of investigation in an interdisciplinary sense and that enhance the reception of the Renaissance today in Italy and beyond.
