He was also the owner of Cox Hobbies, Inc., a Santa Ana and Corona-based maker of radio-controlled model cars and gliders. Additionally, he served as CEO and Chair of a publicly held company on the New York Stock Exchange. Presently, he operates Henley Properties, Inc, a property management company.
Mr. Henley has served on the Private Industry Council of Santa Ana as chairman, and as a delegate for the White House Conference on Small Business. At Chapman, the Henleys have made possible the Doy B. Henley Chair in American Presidential Studies, the Doy and Dee Henley Chair and Distinguished Professor of Jurisprudence, Henley Residence Hall, the Doy and Dee Henley Reading Room in Leatherby Libraries, Dee’s Garden of the Senses at Fish Interfaith Center, and the annual Doy’s Holiday Tree Lighting. In 2024, Doy established the Doy B Henley School of Management and Business Technology within the Argyros College of Business and Economics.
