Degree Conferral
Degrees are conferred three times per year: January 31, May 31, and August 31. However, there is only one commencement ceremony and that is in May. All students whose degrees are being conferred in January, May and August of the same year may be entitled to walk in the commencement ceremony. August graduates who will not have all of their coursework completed by May can walk in commencement if they have two or less courses outstanding.
In order to receive your degree, you must apply for degree conferral through your Student Center. Login and go to "Student Center", "Academics", "My Academics", "Graduation" and click “Apply for Graduation” and submit the form. Students who apply for January, May, and August of the same year will automatically be invited to participate in the May commencement ceremony. Deadlines change every year so please visit the academic calendar for current information. Students who have applied for degree conferral and have questions or need to make changes to the application should contact conferral@chapman.edu.
Students with a GPA in the top 20% will be invited to join Beta Gamma Sigma (honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB). The induction ceremony is held prior to commencement.
