The scholarship is available for up to eight semesters for first-year students. For transfers, it is available for up to eight semesters minus the number of full-time equivalent semesters completed prior to enrollment.

Scholarship renewal eligibility
To be eligible for renewal, you must:
- Continue to be enrolled in a major degree program offered within the Fowler School of Engineering. You will remain scholarship eligible if you continue in your declared major or if you change from your current major to another FSE major.
- Be enrolled full-time (12 credits or more per semester).
- Receive no grade lower than a B- in any class offered by the Fowler School of Engineering.
- Maintain a minimum Chapman cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
- Respond in a timely fashion to all communications from the Human Centered Engineering-program faculty and staff, and participate in at least one HCE event each semester.
- Attend at least one academic advising session every semester.
- Attend the HCE Kick-Off meeting, which is held during orientation week.
