Emi Iwasaki '26 Honored with Cheverton Award

Emi Iwasaki, double-major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Psychology, won the Cecil F. Cheverton Award, which is the oldest and highest undergraduate honor at Chapman University.

Many Honors students were honored with campus-wide awards and as award nominees

Ava Alberts was one of the five Cheverton Award finalists.

Michah Kim was a Paul S. Delp Outstanding Service Award nominee.  Award nominees are recognized for a distinguished record of service and commitment to activities that significantly benefit the greater good.

Micah Kim, Sage McCarty, Molly Niswender, and Madeline Southern were Ronald M. Huntington Outstanding Scholarship Award nominees.  Huntington nominees are recognized for their distinguished records of scholarly accomplishments.

Olivia DeWilde was recognized with a Gloria and Jula Peterson Outstanding Leadership Award.  Delp awardees are recognized for their leadership in enriching university life through at least three of the four pillars (intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual) that guide Chapman University.

Kylee Schwartz won the Outstanding Senior Award. 

Alex Bartels, Ella Bartsch, Camille DeWilde, Micah Kim, Sage McCarty, and Mallory Rieth were Outstanding Senior Award nominees.

Ashley Agatep and Peyton Mitchell won Outstanding Junior Awards.

Will Alger, Stephanie Martinez, Nichole Wheeler, and Gracie Wakefield were Outstanding Junior Award nominees.

Natalie Paradiso won the Outstanding Sophomore Award.

Monserrat De Rosas won the Outstanding First Year Award.

Evelyn Alvarado was an Outstanding First Year Award Nominee.

Phi Beta Kappa Inductees

Aleena Helms '27 and Ashley Agatep '27 were inducted as members of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, the nation's oldest and most prestigious academic honor society. Only 10% of U.S. colleges and universities have Phi Beta Kappa chapters and each chapter only selects 10% of their arts and sciences graduates to join. Bravo Ashley and Aleena!

University Honors Program Awards

Outstanding Service Award

Senior Honors students, Ella Bartsch, Sage McCarty, and Kylee Schwartz were recognized with the University Honors Program Outstanding Service Award, which recognizes members of our Honors community who go above and beyond in their service to the program.

Academic Excellence Award

Chapman University Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships

Congratulations to Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Awardees Natalie Paradiso ’28, Nichole Wheeler ’27, and Anna Young ’27.  We look forward to highlighting the research they will advance this summer in the SURF program.

National Scholarships and Fellowships

Ashley Agatep is a 2026 Goldwater Scholarship recipient.  The Goldwater Scholarship supports undergraduate students with strong potential to become the nation’s next generation of research leaders in science, engineering and mathematics.
