Biography

Dr. Hindu Rao received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacological Chemistry from the University of California San Diego (UCSD) and her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Pharmacy. At UCSF, she received recognition for demonstrating outstanding leadership service and contributing to the pharmacy teaching program. She was also involved in multiple research projects studying the effectiveness of pharmacist-led work on health outcomes and was initiated as a member of the Rho Chi Society, an academic honor society in pharmacy.

Dr. Rao completed her pharmacy practice residency (PGY-1) training at Cedars Sinai Medical Network and Chapman University School of Pharmacy (CUSP), with a focus in ambulatory care practice. Throughout her residency training, she was involved in teaching CUSP students in the classroom and in ambulatory care clinics and received the Resident Teacher of the Year award. 

In addition to her current role as Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at CUSP, Dr. Rao practices as an ambulatory are pharmacist at Providence Medical Foundation. She focuses on chronic disease and medication management, particularly cardiovascular risk reduction, and precepts pharmacy students during experiential rotations at her practice site.

Research Interests:

Dr. Rao's research interests include using telemedicine and digital health tools to strengthen primary care, implementing ambulatory care pharmacy services, evaluating the impact of pharmacist‑led interventions in primary care settings, and fostering communication skills among pharmacy students.
