Biography

Dr. Saeidreza "Sam" Harirforoosh joined Chapman University School of Pharmacy (CUSP) as an instructional Professor of Biomedical Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2022. He received his PharmD from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 1991, and his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmacokinetics) from the University of Alberta in 2005. His dissertation focused on the area of pharmacokinetics and renal effects of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. He also worked as a research assistant/post-doctoral fellow at the University of Alberta, Department of Medicine, from summer 2005 to spring 2006.

Prior to joining CUSP, he was a tenured professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at East Tennessee State University, Gatton College of Pharmacy. He coordinated and taught courses in pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenomics, and drug metabolism. Dr. Harirforoosh is a registered pharmacist in the province of Alberta, Canada.

Over the last several years, he has authored/co-authored 44 peer-reviewed articles and 80 abstracts; served on the editorial boards of the journals of Clinical Pharmacokinetics and European Journal of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics; delivered several lectures at local, national and international conferences; received two research awards from the Gatton College of Pharmacy for his achievements in research and one Gatton College of Pharmacy outstanding teacher award (presented by the class of 2017); served as an abstract reviewer, a grant reviewer, and a peer reviewer for numerous scientific journals; and served as a research advisor for 40 PhD, PharmD, MPH, and undergraduate students.
