Wilkinson College offers funding to support on-campus special events and programs. These funds are intended to assist with event costs or serve as a co-sponsorship, rather than covering the full expense. Eligible expenses include guest speaker travel, honorariums, catering, and supplies. Funding is available exclusively to full-time Wilkinson College faculty. Applications are accepted year-round.
Purpose of the Fund:
- Wilkinson College provides funding to support on-campus events and programs that enhance the intellectual, cultural, and academic life of the College and Chapman University community.
- Event Funding is intended to provide supplemental support and should not be considered the sole source of funding for an event. Applicants are expected to identify other available sources of support, which may include department or program funds, co-sponsorships, grants, gifts, or other university resources.
What Qualifies as an Event?:
- For purposes of this fund, an event is a planned program or activity that extends beyond the regular instruction of a single course and is intended to engage a broader audience. Examples may include lectures, panels, symposia, workshops, screenings, performances, and other academic or community-facing programs.
- Event Funding is not available to support guest speakers for an individual class. Guest speakers supported through this fund must be part of a broader event or program that is open to and intended to engage multiple classes, departments, programs, or other audiences within the Chapman community.
Use of Funds:
- Eligible expenses may include outside guest speaker honoraria and travel, catering, event supplies, and other reasonable costs directly associated with the event. All events receiving funding must comply with
- Chapman University's Event Policy
