The Chapman Real Estate Mentorship Program gives current students and alumni the opportunity to be paired with an industry professional (both outside professionals and alumni) who can provide guidance on how to succeed in the business of real estate.

Program Goals
The goals of the program for Mentees are:
- Current Chapman MBA students or junior and senior undergraduates (minimum 3.0 GPA or higher).
- For Chapman alumni in need of career guidance from experienced mentors post-graduation (2-5 years).
- Commit to the time and communication as mutually agreed upon between mentor and mentee (e.g. in-person meetings, phone/video calls, or email exchanges).
- Required to meet with Mentor at least once a month in addition to phone or email exchanges.
- Complete survey and feedback forms at various intervals throughout the year.
- Be open minded, respectful, and keep to the expectations that have been set out for the mentor/mentee relationship.

- Have at least two years experience in the real estate industry.
- Commit to the time and communication requirement as mutually agreed upon between mentor and mentee (e.g. in-person meetings, phone/video calls, or email exchanges).
- Required to meet with Mentee at least once a month in addition to phone or email exchanges.
- Complete survey and feedback forms at various intervals throughout the year.
- Be open minded, respectful, and keep to the expectations that have been set out for the mentor/mentee relationship.
The Alumni Mentorship Program is not a placement program. The purpose of the program is not to open doors to specific job opportunities. The intent is to foster close relationships between mentees and prominent professionals who offer key advice on how to succeed in the industry.
Qualifications Of Mentors
The goal is to build a database of alumni mentors and outside leading professionals who would like to volunteer their time and knowledge. Prospective mentors are expected to:
- Experienced and successful mentors (both alumni and outside professionals)
- At least 10+ years of experience in a specialized sector in real estate.
- These mentors will be mentoring individual mentees.
- Seeking to give back, network with other professionals, and reconnect with CU by mentoring.
- Younger Chapman alumni mentors
- At least 2 to 5 years of post-graduate experience.
- These mentors will be mentoring individuals or groups of mentees.
- Seeking to give back, network with other professionals, and reconnect with CU by mentoring.
- To become a mentor, please complete the Mentor Application to aid us in the pairing process.
Qualifications Of Mentees
Student mentee applicants must be enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program at the Argyros College and must be one of the following:
- Younger Chapman alumni in need of a mentor
- Chapman alumni in need of career guidance from experienced mentors post-graduation (2-5 years).
- Must be working in the industry currently.
- Seeking career guidance and mentorship from experienced mentors post-graduation.
- Chapman MBA students or undergraduate juniors and seniors
- Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Have at least one professional experience in the field of real estate (e.g. summer internship, research analyst, etc.).
- Submit a Personal Statement of interest (500 words minimum).
- To be considered as a mentee, please complete the Mentee Application.
Pairing Process
The selection committee comprise of Argyros College alumni representatives and faculty. Student applications and mentor profiles will be reviewed and matched based on career goals/interests of student and the professional experience of mentor.
The results will be notified to all applicants. In some instances, given the criteria above and/or a lack of suitable matches, a prospective mentor or mentee may not be paired. Placement in the mentorship program depends on the availability of mentor with the requested criteria and quality of mentee applications received. Prospective mentors or mentees who are not matched during the current cycle will be reviewed for a match for the next program cycle.
