David A. Janes

Mr. Janes was Chairman of Janes Capital Partners (JCP), an investment banking firm specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions in Aerospace & Defense. Prior to forming JCP in 1997, Mr. Janes was the CEO of California Manufacturing Enterprises (CME), an aircraft parts manufacturing company he co-founded in 1977.

During the late 1990s, Mr. Janes divested his interests and formed JCP to capitalize on his extensive experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry. Mr. Janes has held various positions in industry associations including the Metal Treating Institute, the American Society for Metals, Precision Metal Manufacturing Association and the American Manufacturing Association. He has also been active in numerous civic organizations in Orange County.

During his business career, Mr. Janes maintained an active participant in the Naval Reserve and, in 1994, retired as a two-star admiral. Over his 36 years of service, he has held numerous commands, including his most recent assignment as Commander Military Sealift Pacific and Far East. He also served as Special Assistant to the Director of the Naval Reserve for Nationwide Automation of Reserve Personnel Management.

On April 7, 2019, Board of Chairman Emeritus David A. Janes, Sr. passed away.

The Janes Financial Center was made possible by a generous donation from Mr. Janes, along with earnings from the Student Managed Investment Fund. The Center opened in the Spring of 2013 and provides the community with state-of-the-art financial analysis technology and real-time information.
