Phone: (714) 628-2649 Professor Parlow joined the Chapman faculty in the fall of 2005 as an Assistant Professor of Law. Before coming to Chapman, he served as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Law at Whittier Law School, where he taught Property and Sports Law. He has taught courses on the undergraduate level at Yale University and Loyola Marymount University on Local Government Policy. He was also a Fellow at the Center for the Study of Los Angeles, where he researched the charter reform process in the City of Los Angeles. Prior to his academic career, Professor Parlow clerked for the Honorable Pamela Ann Rymer of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Before his clerkship, he worked as an associate at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, in Los Angeles, where he specialized in Land Use, Real Estate, Environmental, and Local and State Government Law. He received his Juris Doctor from the Yale Law School, where he was an editor for the Yale Law and Policy Review and the Yale Journal on Regulation. While in law school, he served as a legal intern for the Office of the Legal Counsel in The White House during former President Bill Clinton's administration. He received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Loyola Marymount University. After college, Professor Parlow worked for Los Angeles Mayor Richard J. Riordan before attending law school. He is a commissioner on the Local Government Services Commission for the County of Los Angeles. He is a founding member of the Cesar E. Chavez Foundation and serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Hobart Shakespeareans, a non-profit organization that works with inner-city kids to provide them with better educational and cultural opportunities.
