What to Expect from Career Services

Individual Support

Our students benefit from the individualized support of our CSO team from the start of their 1L year. We'll assign you a dedicated Career Services advisor who will provide personalized career counseling both during school and even after you have graduated to help nuture your passion into a professsional career pathway.

Professional Development

All our first-year students participate in our Professional Development program, designed to build confidence and strengthen application materials like cover letters and resumés, while developing professional skills. This program features guest speakers from District Attorney's offices, prestigious law firms and the Orange County Bar Association, connecting students with a broad cross-section of the legal profession, while teaching essential professional skills like professionalism, diversity and civility.

Job Search

Gain real-world, career-relevant experience through internships, externships or paid positions while you study. We’ll help you prepare for professional life with in-person and online mock interview programs, then put your skills to the test with on-campus interviews. Key to this process are the deep connections the CSO has across the Southern California legal marketplace and all five branches of the US Military JAG Corps. Each fall and spring approximately 150 employers participate in our recruiting efforts, offering students  opportunities to interview for summer, academic year and post-graduate positions.

Networking

Our CSO team will help you make valuable connections with alumni and provide a complimentary membership to the Orange County Bar Association, connecting you directly with fellow students and experienced attorneys at bar association events or school-sponsored mixers.
